Portraitclass in Cockenzie - day one

Today was the first out of five days classes where we are painting portraits in watercolour from live models. On my way there this morning I was as ready and excited as I was before my first day at school šŸ˜

Painting from a live model was very fun and very challenging (I will not use the word difficult...)

Aine is such an amazing teacher, very inspiring and motivating!

The other six students in my class are so nice! This will be a great week!

Today we painted Pete, a bearded man. Tomorrow we are going to paint a woman. Exciting to see how that will be different.

Tore had a nice long walk while I was painting.

After class we drove east, and then south, to Lindisfarne. Fascinating place you only can get to when it is low tide. When we first got there we confirmed that we had to wait some hours before being able to cross:

We then drove back to Berwick upon Tweed and had a lovely dinner there. We had fish an chips and got the car charged.

Then we drove back and crossed over to Lindisfarne, that by then had become accessible / fixed land

We parked and walked into the center, and found a nice ruin and a graveyard. We also found a church dated back to year 800.

In the background you can see the castle further out on the island.

On our way back to Cockenzie we had the fortune to experience the most magnificent sunset. It took some time due to many stops to take pictures.

I took probably 100 pictures šŸ˜ but, will limit my self to share only two of them.

Now I'm just looking forward to tomorrow and more painting!
