Wedding, crushed wrist and baptism in the late summer

Yes, this August became eventful. Many great events, but also one part I could have skipped...

ree

Arild and Arnborg got married in the English church in Balestrand ❤️❤️

A wonderful weekend and a lovely wedding, including a pre-party on friday at Balestrand hotel. It was so nice to meet up with family and friends, and to make new acquaintances.

In advance I helped preparing, amongst other things I made the place cards, and Tore made labels for small champagne-bottles to go in the goodie-bags all the guests got. In the goodiebags there were also handmade personal cards with pictures to each guests made by the bridal couple 🥰❤️

My brother Dag helped decorating along with Arnborgs family and friends of the bridal couple.

We shared an airb&b-apartment with Even, Lene and my grandchildren + Lenes parents. So nice!

Saturday morning Even and I started the day with a swim in the fjord, lovely start of the day!

And then came the part I should have skipped... 🙈

I was just having a quick shower before getting ready for the wedding. The floor in the bathroom was extremely slippery, and I didn't grasp anything before I was on the floor.

The left hand took the fall, and there was no doubt it was broken. Lene called the hospital, and Tore drove to Førde, 90 min drive, I was so angry and sad that I felt no pain, neither was I bothered by the fact my arm looked like a boiled spaghetti. I just couldn't believe it happened this day of all days.

At the hospital they were super-nice and understanding, and I got an express-journey through one doctor, x-rays, orthopedist, arm-strech, temporary plaster, CT and back to the doctor. All this while we saw the wedding-seremony on my cell-phone streamed by Even, and rehearsing for my speach.

ree

The doctors even was beeing careful with my nailpolish, to keep it nice for the party ❤️

Then we drove back to Balestrand, just in time to dress up and be there for dinner.

It was a lovely wedding-party and I got to do my speach for my son and daughter in law.

With some drugs I was able to sleep that night 👍

Sunday we hade breakfast at the hotel with family and friends, and then it was time to take down the decoration.

ree

After that it was time for cake-leftovers at Arnborgs parents house before we drove home.

That evening they called from the hospital asking me to be there for surgery next morning 😜 so that night I didn't sleep well.

Tore drove me there next morning, and I was met by nice doctors and nurses that had all heard about the wedding 😅

Two chief surgents operated on me for 2 hours, and I was happy to hear they were optimistic after the surgery. Before surgery they warned me that they were not sure they would be able to put it all together, beeing so complitely shattered in pieces.

ree

I had to spend the night at the hospital, having penicillin intravenously due to the surgery having lasted so long. But good food and nice staff made it a good experience.

I got so much nice flowers, both at the hospital and after I came home 🌺😍

ree

After two weeks I had new x-rays taken, was checked by an orthopedic and saw an ergotherapist. X-rays was fine, so I got some excersices to do, and this is still terribly painful to do 🙈

The third week I was "nursed for" at Lene and Even in Innvik 🌺😍 with the best distraction in the world: grannys 3 boys 💙💙💙

Then came the day of Ivers baptism 😍💙 the ceremony was outdoors, and Iver was wearing the dress my grandmother made for my baptism 💞

ree

We were served very good thai-food before the ceremony and lots of cake after.

Then we headed back to Høyanger, me, Tore and Dag. I started missing the boys the moment we left.

I'm still on sickleave because of the complicated fracture, and I get the days going by doing things I normally don't have time for: reading books and watching series on TV 🙈

Next week it's back to the ergotherapist, and the week thereafter it's time for new x-rays and seeing the orthopedic.

So fingers crossed !!!

This turned out to become a long blog 😊 Aiming for my next blog beeing more about art. Hopefully we are going to Barcelona in the middle of October, were my painting is one of the elected to represent the Nordic countries 🥰 Guessing my next blog will be about this event🤞
