Portraitclass in Cockenzie - day four

It's amazing how time flies when having fun, today is already day four out of five at summerschool. Today we got to paint Lake, dressed in lovely colours, such a treat!

For some reason I struggled today. I'm not sure if it was because I had the model from direct front, or if it was just that day. But at the end it fell into place, and I am satisfied with the result. Lake approached me after we finished and told me that my portrait had moved her. This was really touching, and it made me happy! Aine was as always a great mentor and "pusher", and she gave me the confidence that I needed to make it.

Here is Aine and Lake in front of todays portraits.

Every day we are having agood start in the garden with a session of tai-chi led by Elaine, Aines sister. This I will continue when I come home 🙏It's such a great way to find focus and calm.

Tore had a nice walk today also, and after class he took me to get a taste of it.

This is just east of North Berwick, we went for a walk in the forest and on the beach.

Tore had found a well hidden ruin of a castle in the woods:

There were some great motives from inside the ruin

Beautiful shapes and formations

At the beach we found inspiration in form of colours, waves, stones and light.

Amazing colours in the stones

At the end of the bay there was a view of a castle sitting on the cliff.

There was a harbor cut out in the rock, it really has to be brave sailors to dare drive the boat in this channel.

Soon it is the last day of the summer class, I'm looking forward to seeing the next model. Aine has really picked a great diversity of models for us!

Finally here is one more picture of inspiration from todays photo chase:
